I have seen Kristan Higgin's books but this is the first one I actually read. I am happy (and sad!) to report I have definitely been missing out. I thoroughly enjoyed MY ONE AND ONLY. I couldn't put it down. Because Harper and Nick have a history, a short but passionate marriage that imploded for a variety of reasons including youth and personal baggage, the story quickly dives into their relationship. In turns funny, heartbreaking, and thoughtful, MY ONE AND ONLY revolves around themes of forgiving and releasing the past in order to fulfill the promise of a better future. I thought both Harper and Nick were flawed and charming, making them great characters. I found the secondary characters fun and engaging. The road trip was the perfect means for them to discover new things about themselves and each other, as they explored the back roads of middle America. Hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!
