A young African-American woman accepts the position of media spokesperson for an international chemicalcompany, and prepares to prove herself in a bold career move. When a chemical plant explodes, and a huge fire spreads toward the woman's old hometown in Texas,sending toxic fumes throughout the community, she is sent to investigate. What she discovers is that the town from her childhood is gone, replaced by houses for sale, and angry people suffering from ailments caused by the acrid smoke. The company denies the existence of harmful chemicals in their facility, and she finds her loyalties divided between company and community, career and family. But her search for the truth reveals secrets she has no choice but to believe, and places her life in grave danger....
