Contemporary Chick Lit

Shari Diamond, a nice young Jewish girl from New York, is currently doing her Ph.D. in the dead language of Volupuk and is dating Kevin, a nice Jewish boy from New York (her mother would be proud!). But Shari, the nice young Jewish girl from New York has a thing for British men -- especially Kit the Brit whom she sleeps with while in Chicago at a conference on dead languages, only to discover the next day that he is attending the same conference. Not only that, but it turns out that Kit the Brit also studies Volupuk and his findings are exactly what Shari has been searching for over the past four years.

According to Kit, the last living man to speak Volupuk lives outside York, England, not outside New York, New York (Whoops!). After much persuasion Kit convinces Shari to visit England to meet the Volupuk guy from York, much to the dismay of Kevin. When Kevin arrives in England with a ring in hand, Shari has to decide between Kit and Kevin, and decide if she is just satisfying her Anflophone appetite or if she is really in love with the Brit.
