Contemporary Chick Lit

The Players:

Dalton Moss is a quick-witted, impulsive and aggressively unambitious individual. As the half-hearted assistant to a Hollywood events planner, Dalton spends her time routinely haggling over the price of chicken Florentine and waiting for the workday to end.

Roman is charming, intellectual, wordly long-distance boyfriend. His work for the non-profit International Center for Relief and Advancement keeps him in DC when he's not flying off to struggling nations. However, he does stop over in LA long enough to slip a two-carat diamond onto Dalton's finger and ask her to marry him before jetting off once more.

Jeremy is Dalton's other boyfriend...sometimes...whenever Roman's not in town. Perfect in his imperfection and surly in his attraction to her, he's one of the few people who can match her beer for beer. Dalton doesn't want to love him but she just can't seem to help herself, despite Roman--and despite Jeremy's other girlfriend.

Confused? So is Dalton.

However, now that she's engaged, Dalton figures she should temper her penchant for dive bars, abusing her mother's credit card and her fiery, furtive relationship with Jeremy. After all, this is her chance to shed her bad-girl habits and live happily ever after. Roman's offering a lifeline from her drowned existence in LA, but Jeremy could be that twisted ticket to Wonderland. She's been holding our for a crushing feeling, a love like that, but will she figure out which man she has it with before she loses them both?
