Odelle is a confident reporter whose sister, Nora, has recently discovered a secret society of immortal sorcerers from ancient Greece locked in an eternal battle with the evil Shadow. Normally, self-assured, Odelle is thrown off balance by the revelation of this fantastical world that may not have a place for her. Eager to prove her capabilities, Odelle joins with the Eteria to investigate Shadow activity in the city. She reluctantly accepts the help of the charming magical Smith, Antony, despite him having hurt her pride by rejecting her romantic advances in the past.
The pair soon discovers that the Shadow is pursuing an ancient magical artifact, a crown that enhances the wearer's best qualities. They must both overcome their history and personal insecurities to capture the crown before it falls into the wrong hands: a task that forces them to come face to face with their own shortcomings and realize that they may have more in common than they had once thought.
