Mehmet C. Oz
Mehmet C. OZ, M.D., is a professor of surgery at the
Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. He is
also director of its Cardiovascular Institute and vice
chairman for cardiovascular services of the Department of
Surgery.
He is director of the cardiac assist device program and co-
founder of the integrative medicine program. His work in
this area is featured on the program, "Second Opinion with
Dr. Oz," which is premiering on the Discovery Channel.
Dr. Oz is author and editor of numerous books and articles.
He is a member of the American Association of Thoracic
Surgeons (1997) and a fellow of the American College of
Surgeons (1997) and the American College of Cardiology
(1995). He has been listed as one of the "Best Doctors of
the Year" by New York magazine. He earned his Doctor of
Medicine from University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from
the Wharton School of Business.
