Lawrence Light
Lawrence Light, an award-winning journalist, is the Senior Editor in charge of money and investing for Forbes magazine, a post he assumed in late 1999. Under his supervision, Forbes writers have uncovered hosts of Wall Street abuses, in particular mutual fund shenanigans. As a reporter for Business Week, Newsday, and Congressional Quarterly, he has delved into all manner of financial skullduggery and made a few high-powered enemies who wish him ill to this day.
Light started his career after graduating from Lafayette College with a B.A. in English and serving two years active duty in the Army. As a longtime Army reservist, he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He always kept his boots shined and never failed to be polite to his superiors.
In 1993 he published a humor book with his wife, Meredith Anthony, called 101 Reasons Why We’re Doomed. He and his wife live on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, where they like to give good parties. He owns no dog or cat, although the occasional rabbit is welcome.
