Marisa Carroll

Marisa Carroll is the pen name of the award-winning writing team of Carol Wagner and Marian L. Franz of Deshler, Ohio. The sisters have published thirty romance novels in the past fifteen years. Their publishing history includes sales to Dell Publishing, and Woman's World magazine. They now write exclusively for Harlequin Books.

They are the recipients of several industry awards including Romantic Times magazine's Career Achievement Award for their highly acclaimed Saigon Legacy Series published by Harlequin Books in 1991. They were finalists in the Romance Writers of America's RITA award competition for 1992, B. Dalton Bookseller's Best Selling Superromance of 1992, 1996 and 1997 finalists in the Virginia Romance Writer's Holt Medallion competition and the 1997 Oklahoma Romance Writer's National Reader's Choice Awards. In 1999 Romantic Times honored them as one of the top storytellers of the year. Affair de Coeur magazine's readers have nominated them to their Top Ten Favorite Authors List.

In 1992 they were chosen by Harlequin Books to do one of a series of six books to benefit Big Brothers/Big Sisters of North America, an honor of which they are justly proud. In February of 1993, Loveknot, the finale of the Tyler Series appeared on Waldenbooks National Bestseller list. Also in May of that year they were given an award by B. Dalton, Bookseller for the best selling Superromance of 1992. In 1994 their short story Affair of the Heart was included in Harlequin's My Valentine anthology, a USA TODAY bestseller. In June 1994, Wedding Invitation launched Harlequin's Weddings, Inc. series. In 1996 they published the lead title in the Return to Tyler series.

Carol Wagner has been a committee chairman for the national conference of Romance Writers of America four times and is the recipient of the Region 2 Service Award for 1995. Both sisters have been featured speakers at writing seminars all over the country.

Carol and Marian were born and raised in Northwestern Ohio pursuing careers in nursing, X-ray technology and the business community before entering the writing field in 1982. Marian is employed at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Carol is writing full time.
