Manel Loureiro
Manel Loureiro (Pontevedra, Spain, 1975) is a Spanish author and lawyer, widely regarded as one of the most internationally successful contemporary thriller writers. He began his literary career in an unusual way with Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End, originally written as a personal blog that quickly became a viral phenomenon, attracting more than 1.5 million readers online. Its publication in 2007 marked the beginning of a bestselling trilogy that brought him to a wide audience. Since then, Loureiro has built a strong and diverse body of work with novels such as The Last Passenger, Fulgor, Twenty, The Door, The Bone Thief, and When the Storm Passes (Fernando Lara Award, 2024). His books combine suspense, action, and psychological depth, and have been translated into more than twenty languages and published worldwide, including reaching the bestseller lists in the United States. His latest novel, Before Everything Changes (Editorial Planeta, 2026), is a high-stakes thriller set during an international summit on the island of La Toja, where an imminent threat puts Europe’s political balance at risk. Alongside his work as a novelist, Loureiro has worked as a television presenter in Galicia, a screenwriter, and a regular contributor to major media outlets such as El Mundo, Spain’s National Radio (RNE), and various national television programs.
