Lynn Michaels

“I write because I love it,” Lynn says. “Because I can’t envision my life without writing.” In 2003, Lynn received the Reviewers Choice Award for Best Contemporary Romance from Romantic Times Magazine for MOTHER OF THE BRIDE, her first romantic comedy published by Ballantine. “This award means a lot to me,” Lynn says. “The book is set in Kansas City, Missouri where I live, and I received it in Kansas City.” Her second book from Ballantine, RETURN ENGAGEMENT, was nominated for Best Contemporary Romance from Romantic Times. Lynn is also a three-time finalist for the Romance Writers of America’s RITA award, the Oscar of romance writing. She has published sixteen books and one novella. Otherwise, her life is pretty much like yours. She grocery shops, pumps her own gas, cleans her house and does the laundry. “My children are raised,” Lynn says. “Neither of them are in jail, so I guess I’ve done okay so far.” Lynn lives in Independence, Missouri with her one and only husband, Michael, and their two sons. One of her most cherished possessions is a misspelled writing award.
