March Into Romance: New Releases to Fall in Love With!
Bonnie MacBird
Bonnie MacBird was born and raised in foggy San Francisco which may explain her affinity for Victorian London. After earning a BA in music and an MA in Film at Stanford, she moved to Los Angeles, where her long Hollywood career included four years as feature film story editor at Universal, original writer of the movie TRON, three Emmys for documentary work, and numerous live theatre credits as an actor, playwright, and director. She also taught screenwriting for ten years at UCLA Extension’s famous Writer’s Program. She has loved Sherlock Holmes since reading the canon at age ten, and when she began her Holmes series for HarperCollins, she travelled frequently to London for research. She and her husband now live there fulltime. She’s written six novels, the first ART IN THE BLOOD, a much lauded thriller/mystery, followed by UNQUIET SPIRITS set mainly in Scotland and featuring ghosts and the whisky business, then THE DEVIL’S DUE, with a serial killer targeting high profile do-gooders in London, followed by THE THREE LOCKS, with murderous cases in Cambridge and London, and a mystery from Watson’s past. Next was novella, WHAT CHILD IS THIS? A Christmas story set in London and illustrated by Marvel superstar Frank Cho. Returning to her full-length novel form, THE SERPENT UNDER is due in January of 2025, and not surprisingly, features snakes, and a tale of revenge and deception.
