Ben Michaelis

Dr. Ben Michaelis, a graduate of Columbia and New York Universities, is a clinical psychologist who helps patients achieve mental health and well-being through creativity. Dr. Michaelis's treatment approach, which emphasizes the innate capacity and desire for imaginative play, was forged during his clinical internship at Bellevue Hospital and his work with inmates from the New York City Correctional System. He has been in private practice in Manhattan since 2004, working with a diverse clientele, including musicians, actors, writers, entrepreneurs, attorneys, executives, and teachers.
Dr. Michaelis's writing has been published in both the academic and popular press. He is a frequent contributor to The Huffington Post and PsychologyToday.com. Dr. Michaelis has been a guest expert on radio, most recently Whole Living on Sirius/XM's Martha Stewart Living Radio Network, and on the nationally syndicated television program Daytime. He has been featured on TheTodayShow.com, Oprah.com and on numerous other magazines and websites. Dr. Michaelis lives with his family in Brooklyn, New York.
