Ally Shields

Ally Shields was born and raised in the Midwest, along the Mississippi River, and considers herself a "river rat." The setting for her urban fantasy series and some of its folklore comes from that area. After a career in law and juvenile justice, she now writes full time and lives near Des Moines, Iowa, with her Minature Pinscher, Ranger. When not writing, reading or visiting family, she travels in the US and abroad and often includes references to those places in her writing.

Shields belongs to Sisters in Crime and several on-line writers' groups.
