A. Catherine Noon

A. Catherine Noon

A. Catherine Noon is an author and textile artist based in the Chicagoland Area. Ms. Noon has taught creative writing, creative expression and textile arts, including Artist's Way workshops. She has taught Fiction Writing Intensive Workshops and has completed several novels. An avid public speaker, she has achieved the Advanced Toastmaster Γ’β‚¬β€œ Bronze and Certified Leader (ATM-B/CL) designations from Toastmasters, International. She is intensely interested in creativity, how right-brain/left-brain thinking styles work, and various tools to help the process of both creativity and business. In terms of writing, this has led to extensive work with the tools developed by such teachers as Julia Cameron and The Artist's Way, Christina Baldwin, Ira Progoff, and Tristine Reiner as well as various others. As a student of the Romance Divas 2010 Mentorship Program, she worked with author Rowan Larke on the process of deep point-of-view in the novel. In 2010, she and Debbie Cairo launched the non-profit Evanston Writers Workshop. As CFO, Ms. Noon keeps an eye on the financials and helps the fledgling company to grow. The first annual writers conference in May garnered accolades from the writing community and EWW has launched a new website, online forum, and writing retreat. A teacher and small-group facilitator for twenty years, Ms. Noon has experience in creative unblocking, women's spirituality, political action and the environment, and various crafts. She has led workshops on fiction writing, personal exploration and spiritual journaling, knitting, candle making, and Ukrainian egg decorating. She received a BA from the University of California, Irvine, in Russian in 1993; and an MBA from Argosy University in December, 2009, with a concentration in Finance.
