Leslie Kean is an investigative journalist and Director of Investigations for The Coalition for Freedom of Information. Leslie Kean's articles have appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines around the world including the Boston Globe, Baltimore Sun, Providence Journal, Atlanta-Journal Constitution, Newark Star Ledger, The Nation magazine, International Herald Tribune, Globe and Mail, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Bangkok Post, the Kyoto Journal, and the Journal of Scientific Exploration. Her stories have been syndicated through Knight Ridder, Scripps-Howard, New York Times Wire Service, Pacific News Service and the National Publishers Association. Leslie is also a contributing producer for an investigative news program on KPFA Radio, a Pacifica station. Her essays appear in the anthologies Perspectives: Drugs and Society, Stone Soup for the World, and Drugs, Society and Behavior 98/99. She is co-author of Burma’s Revolution of the Spirit: The Struggle for Democratic Freedom and Dignity (Aperture, 1994; White Orchid Press, 1995) published in three languages.
