John Besh
John Besh is the best of a new generation of New Orleans chefs. His world-class, award-winning cuisine springs from roots deep in the food culture of the place where he was born. After attending the Culinary Institute of America and apprenticeships in Germany and France, John Besh led a squad of infantry marines in combat during Operation Desert Storm as a non-commissioned officer of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He returned to his beloved city where he has passionately thrown himself into the rebuilding of post-Katrina New Orleans and to making his award-winning restaurants indelible parts of Louisiana's restaurant landscape.
