Dambisa Moyo

Dambisa Moyo

Dambisa Moyo is the Head of Economic Research and Strategy for Sub-Saharan Africa at Goldman Sachs, where she has worked for the past eight years. From May 1993 to September 1995, Dambisa worked at the World Bank in Washington D.C., as a co-author to its annual World Development Report. Dambisa is the author of a forthcoming book Dead Aid, which will be published by Penguin and Farrar, Strauss & Giroux in Spring 2009. In 2005, Dambisa Moyo presented her work on Foreign Aid, Debt, and Poverty in developing countries at the World Economic Forum annual meetings in Davos, Switzerland. Dambisa is a member of Cambridge University’s Centre for International Business and Management (CIBAM), and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House). Dambisa Moyo is also a Patron for Absolute Return for Kids (ARK), a hedge fund supported children’s charity, and serves on the Board of the Lundin Charitable Foundation, which in September 2007, pledged US$100 million towards microfinance initiatives in developing economies. Dambisa completed a PhD in Economics at Oxford University and holds a Masters from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. In addition, she holds a BSc in Chemistry and an MBA in Finance from American University in Washington D.C.. Dambisa Moyo was born and raised in Lusaka, Zambia.
