Paul A. Offit

From the time he was a young medical student Paul Offit has felt a personal need to challenge the danger of infectious diseases. He studied the great epidemics of history and was awestruck by their killing power. For example, the Flu of 1918, sometimes called “The Spanish Flu” is estimated to have killed 20-40 million human beings! – approximately 1/10th of the young adults in the world at that time! Determined to make a difference, Dr. Paul Offit followed his interest in infectious diseases and vaccines into a 30-year career of achievement.
