Michele Ann Young

Michele Ann Young

Born and educated in England, I loved history as a child and was fascinated with the Regency. It has all the glamour and glitz of high society and yet is modern enough to be familiar some two hundred years later. When I moved to Canada, e-mail was still in the future and I spent many hours writing letters home and thereby honing my writing and story telling skills. Since I have always made up stories in my head, imagine the thrill of realizing that not only could I write those stories down, but that other people enjoyed reading them. Pistols at Dawn is my debut novel. It won first place in the Toronto Romance Writers Golden Opportunity Contest in 2003 and attracted the attention of Scott Eagan from The Greyhaus Literary Agency who sold it to Five Star Publishing, an imprint of Thomson Gale. Since writing Pistols at Dawn, my second Regency-set historical romance No Regrets, finaled in the American Title II contest and will by published by Sourcebooks in November 2007. My short story, Christmas Masquerade will be in stores in the Highland Press Anthology "Holiday in the Heart" in time for Christmas 2007. I now live and write in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada with my husband and two beautiful girls. Each summer I return to England with my husband to visit family and research my next novel.
