Born in Chicago; based in Africa, but I live on the road, writing the next novel from the country that will inevitably connect to Chicago. I’ve been writing full time for ten years—completed nine novels (all interconnected in milieu). In 2008 Simon Lipskar sold CALUMET CITY (number six, written in 2005). CALUMET CITY has been listed or nominated for Best Debut by the American Library Association, MWA (Edgar), ITW (Thriller), and MRI (Macavity). This March, Anne Johns optioned CC to be shot in Chicago 2010. Here’s hoping Simon fast-talks one more editor.
