William C. Thiel, husband, best friend, care taker of his wife throughout her courageous battle with not only breast cancer, but the fact she was misdiagnosed, and her delay in a correct diagnosis cost her life. Bill made a promise to his wife three weeks before she died, she made him promise to tell her story and save other women’s lives. Bill has kept that promise for over 8 years. Maureen’s story has already saved lives. Bill has worked relentlessly on his promise and Maureen’s Mission a non profit organization was created to educate women, and health care professionals, on misdiagnosis and the lethal impacts of a delayed diagnosis. Bill lives in Northeast PA, and has dedicated his life to making sure another woman does not have to go through what Maureen did, or he and his two boys.
