Carley Roney is editor in chief and cofounder of The Knot (www.theknot.com), the #1 wedding resource. Motivated by the excruciating process of planning her own wedding, Roney made it her mission to find a fun, efficient, up-to-date way for brides and grooms to plan their weddings. Everyone she talked to agreed: The wedding world was ready for a new voice and the Web was the best place to break new ground. Building on her magazine publishing and new media experience, Roney cofounded The Knot with her husband (CEO of The Knot, David Liu) and two partners in 1996. In just seven years, The Knot has become the leader among wedding media companies, extending its top-notch content and tools through its award-winning website TheKnot.com, and to the offline world through a series of books and magazines bearing The Knot brand.
