When a young girl is found dead in a cage, FBI neuroscientist Sayer
Altair must take a break from her research into the brains of serial
killers. This killer seems to be very sadistic, letting the young victim
slowly starve to death, but strangely, had given the girl a puppy. The
case is complicated further by the fact that the girl is the daughter of a
senator. Sayer tries to figure out the killers motive, but the situation
becomes dire when they realize another girl is locked up somewhere...
CAGED by Ellison Cooper is the
first book in the very promising Agent Sayer Altair series. Sayer is a
very closed person, still reeling from the shocking death of her fiancé,
and spends most of her time studying serial killers. I quite liked getting
to know Sayer and I found her research fascinating. The case is also
interesting, especially when the motive comes to light. I also have to
admit that I was a bit surprised by the last part of the book. Both the
thrilling twist to the story, as well as the identity of the killer. I liked the
fact that Ellison Cooper managed to surprise me.
CAGED is a great book to read if
you like serial killer/FBI books. I will definitely read the next book in the
series.
FBI neuroscientist Sayer Altair hunts for evil in the
deepest recesses of the human mind. Still reeling from the
death of her fiancé, she wants nothing more than to focus on
her research into the brains of serial killers. But when the
Washington D.C. police stumble upon a gruesome murder scene
involving a girl who was slowly starved to death while held
captive in a cage, Sayer is called in to lead the
investigation. When the victim is identified as the daughter
of a high profile senator, Sayer is thrust into the spotlight.
As public pressure mounts, she discovers that another girl
has been taken and is teetering on the brink of death. With
evidence unraveling around her, Sayer races to save the
second victim but soon realizes that they are hunting a
killer with a dangerous obsession...a killer who is closer
than she thought.
