Thriller Psychological

An exhilarating psychological thriller, THE THIRD VICTIM written by New York Times Bestselling Author Phillip Margolin, is one novel that has an amazing storyline! I enjoying reading this page-turner and found it hard to put down. Margolin has a way of telling the story through each of his intense chapters. This is one that will keep you guessing with an alarming ending.

A woman is found in the road late one night half dressed coming out of the woods. She had been kidnapped, beaten, and tortured until she was able to escape. Two other women who were found dead suffered the same burns and beatings leaving her as the only survivor from a madman. She is able to describe where her captor had held her at the private cottage owned by Alex Mason, an attorney. Between evidence and the survivor's statement, things aren't looking good for Alex.

Regina Barrister is known as "The Sorceress" because of her success as a criminal defense attorney is on the case. As long as her secret does not interfere with her job at defending Alex Mason then her reputation continues to follow her. Robin Lockwood, a new young lawyer who dreamed of working with Regina and use to be a former MMA fighter joins Regina's team to defend Alex Mason. Robin is worried that Regina is not up to her reputation this time and Alex faces the death penalty if convicted.

Phillip Margolin's novel has more astonishing occurrences in this fascinating story. THE THIRD VICTIM is a novel I recommend if you love stories that have a twist, and suspense that keep you engaged.

SUMMARY

The “master of heart-pounding suspense” returns with a brand new series and a USA Today bestseller The Third Victim is New York Times bestseller Phillip Margolin at his very best.

A woman stumbles onto a dark road in rural Oregon—tortured, battered, and bound. She tells a horrific story about being kidnapped, then tortured, until she finally managed to escape. She was the lucky one—two other women, with similar burns and bruises, were found dead.

The surviving victim identifies the house where she was held captive and the owner, Alex Mason—a prominent local attorney—is arrested. Although he loudly insists upon his innocence, his wife’s statements about his sexual sadism and the physical evidence found at the scene, his summer home, is damning.

Regina Barrister is a legendary criminal defense attorney, known as “The Sorceress” for her courtroom victories. But she’s got a secret, one that threatens her skill, her reputation, and, most of all, her clients. And she’s agreed to take on the seemingly impossible task of defending Alex Mason.

Robin Lockwood, a young lawyer and former MMA fighter, has just left a clerkship at the Oregon Supreme Court to work for Regina Barrister. The Alex Mason trial is her first big one, a likely death penalty case, and she’s second chair to Regina. Increasingly, she’s worried her boss’s behavior and the details in the case against their client don’t quite add up.
