"Girl Scouts, the CIA, and the Yakuza... what could possibly go wrong?"

Fresh Fiction Review

Marshmallow S'More Murder

Mystery

The call for help came at the worst possible time. Merry Wrath has her hands full with her Girl Scout troop touring Washington, DC. Unfortunately, Merry can't refuse to aid Riley, her former CIA handler. Never mind that her Girl Scouts need constant supervision or complete chaos ensues. Can Merry find out who has kidnapped Riley while keeping all twelve Girl Scouts safe from harm?

I laughed so hard I cried on multiple occasions while reading MARSHMALLOW S'MORE MURDER! Merry is an absolute hoot as I love her somewhat snarky sense of humor. However, it is the Girl Scouts who completely steal the show! Their exploits kept me in stitches as I couldn't wait to see what chaos they would create next. Besides, who can't help but love a Girl Scout troop that prefers an ugly vulture (lovingly nicknamed Mr. Fancy Pants) over adorable pandas?

MARSHMALLOW S'MORE MURDER takes readers on some interesting detours as Merry tries to uncover what has happened to Riley. I particularly love the irony of the yakuza residing in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some of the secondary characters, such as Elvinia, are so hilarious that I hope we see them again in other books as I definitely want to know more them.

MARSHMALLOW S'MORE MURDER is the third book in the Merry Wrath series and follows up on events that happened in a prior book. New readers (such as myself) can easily jump right in as Leslie Langtry gives all the necessary background. However, I definitely will be reading the earlier books in the Merry Wrath series as MARSHMALLOW S'MORE definitely has me hooked!

SUMMARY

From national bestselling author, Leslie Langtry comes the latest Merry Wrath Mystery that will leave you dying of laughter... What could be better for former CIA agent turned Girl Scout leader Merry Wrath than taking twelve little girls to Washington DC for a bit of summer fun? Almost anything. Unfortunately, between her girls terrorizing the Secret Service and "accidentally" destroying the hotel pool, Merry has her hands full with this troop. And when her former handler, Riley, is kidnapped Merry has to turn to an old friend from her spy days and her parents, Senator and Mrs. Czrgy, to help her wrangle the troop and rescue the man she once briefly called her boyfriend. Armed only with a perpetually AWOL parent, stalked by a runaway King Vulture, and plagued by a mysterious death from her past, Merry's mayhem weaves a wacky trail from moonshiners in the Blue Ridge Mountains, to the bowels of the Japanese Embassy, to the ductwork of the International Spy Museum. With things heating up with current boyfriend, Detective Rex Ferguson, can Merry decipher clues from her past to find ex¬-boyfriend Riley and finally solve the murder of Yakuza boss, Midori Ito, before the target on her back is filled with lead?
