Jude McCoy has been assigned a new partner, Jackson Crow, who just happens to be the head of the F.B.I.'s Krewe of Hunters, a special unit of paranormal agents. Jude is unsure what it means with the case they have but he is glad to have someone so experienced, because this one just got really strange. It is during the search for a serial killer known as the Archangel they find themselves on board a historic cruise ship and about to face his own HAUNTED DESTINY.

Alexi Cromwell, a pianist at the Destiny's piano bar, becomes involved in the investigation through the simple fact that she sees ghosts and the Destiny is full of them. The long historic life of the ship has lent itself to a number of tragedies including its time as a hospital ship and the murder of a Broadway star and her husband who join Alexi often at her piano.

The last thing she wants is to feel an attraction for the skeptical Jude who doesn't believe she sees ghosts but the truth is so does he. Both have past tragedies and aren't looking for love but sometimes what you least expect you find.

HAUNTED DESTINY is another fantastic offering of author Heather Grahams "Krewe of Hunter" series. I'm not sure if I should call a mystery involving a serial killer fun but to me this book was just that. The variety of ghostly personalities was amazing as this writer knows how to make everything come alive (pardon the pun). There was also a very lovely romance between Alexi and Jude, and considering how rocky they started out with the missed and mixed signals was very nicely handled. I really loved the ending but I can't tell you what it was as I felt it was a very important part of both Alexi and Jude's personalities. I am also going to pat myself on the back because for the first time in reading Ms. Grahams "Krewe" books I was able to pick out the killer. Okay, so they narrowed it down in the process of Jackson's wife, Angela via the computer, eliminating most of the crew and passengers, but I did guess right. If you are looking for a good mystery, a sweet romance with just the right amount of steam to have you fanning yourself, ghosts of all shapes and sizes and a very fun look at a cruise ship then HAUNTED DESTINY is a book you will want to pick up and devour.

SUMMARY

Between the evil and the deep blue sea…

A historic cruise ship, a haunted ship, the Celtic American Line's Destiny, sets sail from the Port of New Orleans—with a killer on board. He's known as the Archangel Killer because of the way he displays his victims in churches. And how he places a different saint's medallion on each body. No one knows exactly who he is or why he's doing this.

Jackson Crow—head of the FBI's Krewe of Hunters, a special unit of paranormal investigators—is assigned to the case, along with local agent Jude McCoy. Then Alexi Cromwell, who works in the ship's piano bar, is drawn into the situation when a victim's ghost appears to her—and to Jude. She and Jude share an attraction, and not just because of their mutual talent.

There are many suspects, but one by one they're ruled out… Or are they? In the end, Jude and Alexi have to rely on each other to catch the killer and escape his evil plans for Alexi.
