Romance Paranormal

I always wonder how an author, any author, can continue writing a series and keep each book different, fresh and alive. Having read a number of author Paige Tyler's X-Op books I can honestly state that Ms. Tyler has done just that. HER FIERCE WARRIOR is fantastic!

Minka has been tortured and changed into something she is afraid of, and it is only Special Forces soldier Angelo Rios who can calm the beast within her. Though every instinct had him wanting to reach for his weapon when she lunges for him, he manages to sooth her with just his voice. When they plan to sedate her all hell breaks loose, and only Angelo can protect her...and protect the others from her.

Angelo is a soldier, never planning for anything else, because of his parents' past, but there is something about Minka that brings out the fierce protector in him. He finds himself by her side and before long he wants more. Can love survive with a Special Forces soldier who takes off without much notice?

HER FIERCE WARRIOR is one of those books you hate to see end. I love Minka, and I felt her pain, her fear, and her anger at what was done to her. I was intrigued by Angelo, who has exactly the right touch to calm the frightened Minka but was able to step back and let her work on standing alone. He figured eventually he would be returning to his unit. However the Department of Covert Operations (DCO) just might have other ideas. It was good visiting again with characters from the past to see where they are now. HER FIERCE WARRIOR is truly a sweet love story, with the perfect steam level, just the right touch of action, and enough paranormal activity to please any reader looking for either romance or paranormal genres. This is on my TRA shelf, and I am looking for the next one!

SUMMARY

The woman tensed. As anger and fear ricocheted across her face, her eyes changed from red to green to brown in a dizzying display like nothing he'd ever seen.

Every instinct in Angelo's body screamed at him to lunge for his weapon. Instead he set his feet for impact, blocking her slashing claws. Unbelievably, after a few moments of struggling, she went still, all the fight gone...

Minka isn't sure she should trust the sexy Special Forces soldier who found her. Subjected to horrors, on the run from scientists set on locking her in a cage, Minka is terrified of the monster she's becoming...and somehow, Angelo is the only one who can calm the beast inside her and make her feel safe.

But can she trust the way he makes her feel when she's not even sure she can trust herself?

Longview's Lake Sacajewea is beautiful. You can watch the ducks and run around the lake or eat a picnic lunch,
