ROCK REDEMPTION is book three in the Rock Kiss series by fantastic author Nalini Singh. As with the two previous books, if you are used to Ms. Singh's amazing paranormal romance work in her Psy- Changeling books, or her fabulous urban fantasy Guild Hunter books, be aware that this series has a very different feel. It is contemporary romance and has a New Adult vibe. ROCK REDEMPTION features a self-destructive rocker boy, the well-grounded woman he drove away, and the requisite prior trauma of one or more characters to provide the tension. There's even a small mystery thrown in to spice things up further.

Noah is the main guitarist for his band, Schoolboy Choir, whose members I have grown to know and love in the preceding books in the series. Noah had a horrific and prolonged childhood tragedy that has left him estranged from his family and put him in a destructive spiral of nightly meaningless and practically faceless sexual encounters. He's been a complete man-whore, and there's nothing attractive about his self-loathing behavior to me. Hats off to Ms. Singh for her amazing work in making me deeply invested in Noah to the point of cheering for his ultimate redemption in the love of a good woman.

Kit is an actress about to hit the A-List in Hollywood. Kit is a genuinely lovely person, and I adore how Singh gives her the strength to tell Noah, "'I love you and I will forgive you, but this is my line in the sand that you cannot cross in your behavior." Kit's gentle understanding and friendship provide a safe haven for Noah to rise above his personal tragedy. While the story is very angsty, the love that blossoms between Noah and Kit is endearing and hopeful. ROCK REDEMPTION is a rollercoaster of gripping emotions, and I can't wait to see where Nalini Singh takes us next in the series.

SUMMARY

From New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh comes the next contemporary romance in the Rock Kiss series…

Kit Devigny could have loved rock guitarist Noah St. John. Their friendship burned with the promise of intense passion and searing tenderness…until the night Noah deliberately shattered her heart.

Noah knows he destroyed something precious the night he chose to betray Kit, but he’d rather she hate him than learn his darkest secret. All he has left is his music. It’s his saving grace, but it doesn’t silence the voices that keep him up at night. Chasing oblivion through endless one- night-stands, he earns a few hours’ sleep and his bad boy reputation.

When a media error sees Noah and Kit dubbed the new “it” couple, Kit discovers her chance at the role of a lifetime hinges on riding the media wave. Wanting—needing—to give Kit this, even if he can’t give her everything, Noah agrees to play the adoring boyfriend. Only the illusion is suddenly too real, too painful, too beautiful…and it may be too late for the redemption of Noah St. John.
