Romance Paranormal

Cassie Armstrong feels she has to atone for some thing in her life, mainly the fact that her father and brother were evil researchers. They tortured without conscious captured or tricked paranormals all in the name of genetic research. Her father even used his own children in experiments with plans of making them stronger. Now Cassie wants to repair the damage done by her family and save the lives of two of her friends. She needs to find Dante, but she knows if the Phoenix has died and risen she may be PLAYING WITH FIRE.

Dante, the first of the Phoenixes, the one they call the Immortal, doesn't know what Cassie's story is, he can barely remember his own name ... but when he sees her he simply thinks ... mine. He does eventually remember the little girl who eased his pain and the woman who haunts his dreams.

But someone else wants Cassie. There is someone who is searching for her with plans to use her as his own test subject to make himself stronger, faster. Dante must protect what is his in anyway necessary. Can he get over the usual Phoenix kills Phoenix deal to work with Cassie's friends to keep her safe? He must overcome his past or lose the one person in the world who makes him whole.

PLAYING WITH FIRE is a fantastic, cannot stop read. Author Cynthia Eden throws you into the action right from the beginning and it doesn't stop until the last page. Dante and Cassie are both messed up so they are perfect for each other, once they air out their problems and the chemistry between them ... well I guess you can say together they go up in flames. There are a couple of times when you were sure Cassie was going to just kick his butt for him but things work out when he better understands her and the reason she feels she must save her friends and make up for her family's past deeds. Not to give any spoilers away but the ending comes as a complete shock ... something out of no where that will have you saying ... how did she [Ms. Eden] come up with that one? There is also the return of past characters from her other Phoenix Fire books, which I personally love, so readers can see where they are now. I certainly hope Ms. Eden plans a few more of this series because I will be waiting to get my hands on them.

SUMMARY

An Old Flame

Cassie Armstrong has plenty to atone for. The daughter of the most immoral researcher ever to pick up a scalpel, she's determined to use her own brilliance in genetics to repair the damage her family has done to the paranormals. Especially Dante, the first of the phoenixes, the one they call the Immortal. He's been haunting her dreams since she was a little girl, and she's been trying to ease his pain for almost as long. If only he remembered any of it. . .

Dante doesn't know what Cassie's story is. He almost doesn't care. The minute he sees her, all he can think is mine. But there's more to the pretty little doctor than meets the eye. And Dante isn't the only one to notice. He can't trust her, but he can't stay away--and if he wants to learn her secrets, he's going to have to fight like hell to keep them both alive. . .
