In this paperback novel of COOKIES AND SCREAM written by
Virginia Lowell,
you'll find a small hometown with loveable characters that
will make this cozy
mystery an enjoyable delight. Lowell's mystery is well done
and had me guessing
from all the possible suspects. With this story being part
of A Cookie Cutter Shop
Mystery series, you could pick it up and still have
enough information that you
need to know without reading the others. Like most books in
its genre, you have
just the right amount of humor, and crime with all the
various characters that
keep you entertained to the end.
Olivia along with her business partner and friend Maddie,
have just been
handed the job of helping Greta Oskarson sell her precious
antique cookie
cutters. However something does not seem right. Ever since
Greta has come to
town, other people have found out about these cookie cutters
before the word
got out. Then before Olivia has had a chance to check the
value of the cookie
cutters and talk selling with the owner, Greta turns up dead
leaving Olivia looking
for clues. The Sheriff Del Jenkins is out of town leaving
Cody in charge and Olivia
wonders if he has enough experience to lead the
investigation thoroughly. Can
she and Maddie find the one responsible before it is too
late?
This novel has all the right baked up ingredients for an
awesome mystery.
There are even recipes in the back of COOKIES AND SCREAM to
cook up your own batch of
cookies to enjoy as you read. I love how creative Lowell is
with the storyline.
COOKIES AND SCREAM by Virginia Lowell will keep you hungry
for more. I cannot
wait for the next one in this series!
