Romance Contemporary

Kennedy Ashe works for Kinnections, a matchmaking agency. She was once overweight, but she made herself over into a fashionista, a living goddess in the eyes of the world. Nate Ellison Raymond Dunkle, an aerospace engineer, is brilliant but a real nerd: unkempt, disheveled, he cares nothing for his appearance and lacks everything in terms of social graces. He is serious about finding a wife, he doesn't care for one-night stands and temporary arrangements. He has a good heart, he means well, he has tried to get all the data on what women really want, mostly from magazines, and unfortunately from his brother Connor, but it doesn't help him at all. He decides to give Kinnections a try and Kennedy is his matchmaker.

After a disastrous first bout with speed-dating, Kennedy sees him as a real challenge. She will help him because she knows how rejection feels, and she decides to teach him everything, so he can meet the one. Nate is in awe of Kennedy's beauty and brains, but he knows she is out of his league; she is too perfect for him.

The more time Nate and Kennedy spend together, the more they are attracted to each other, but she needs to be in control of her destiny, always, and dares not do what her heart tells her: she pushes him away again and again. Behind the glossy surface, Kennedy hurts a lot, but she has learned to hide it well. She would like to be able to commit to someone, but she's terrified of a man knowing who she really is: a brainiac who works hard at being perfect.

SEARCHING FOR PERFECT by Jennifer Probst had me hooked from page one, I was reading with a smile on my face. The book is close to 400 pages, yet you don't want to stop reading. The characters jump off the page, and the descriptions of Nate are truly hilarious. It's a light, charming and sexy story with a lot of substance; we share Nate's and Ken's joy and pain. It's funny and heart-wrenching. It's a reverse Pygmalion and yet totally original; it's also a profound reflection on what our society values and the damage it can do. And it gives a new meaning to "applied science". In a few words, SEARCHING FOR PERFECT is simply ... perfect!

SUMMARY

The highly anticipated second novel in the new Searching For series from Jennifer Probst, "one of the most exciting breakout novelists" (USA TODAY)—a spin-off of the bestselling Marriage to a Billionaire series—featuring a sexy matchmaker, and the rocket scientist who becomes her special project…

The up-and-coming matchmaking agency Kinnections is the hottest thing to hit Verily, New York—just like Kennedy Ashe, social director for the service she owns with her two best girlfriends. A coach, consultant, and cheerleader rolled into one super-sizzling package, Kennedy creates dream dates, encourages singles to shine, and never refuses a challenge—not even Nate Ellison Raymond Dunkle, rocket scientist, nerd extraordinaire, and Kennedy’s newest client.
