In Driving her Wild, book three in the Wilinski's
series, newly
retired MMA fighter Stephanie Healy has just given up life
on the road and is looking to settle down. She is turning
thirty in a few weeks and her biological clock is ticking.
Steph has taken a job as a trainer and instructor at
Wilinski's Gym. Although she loves her job, it does not pay
well and she has no desire to live paycheck to paycheck like
her parents. Steph's dating has always consisted of other
fighters or other handsome men who are rough around the
edges and usually financially unstable. She wants a true
gentleman, a man that will wine and dine her and provide the
financial security she thinks she needs. Since her
occupation usually intimidates her dates, she joins the
upscale dating service Spark in hopes of finding her the
upscale man of her dreams.
Carpenter turned electrician Patrick Doherty is a sweet,
handsome man with a nice body. He is a master carpenter but
due to the poor housing market, he had to take any job he
could get in order to make ends meet since his divorce.
This week he is working as an electrician in the gym where
Steph works.
Their first few face to face meetings are less then stellar,
leaving Steph with a bloody nose and a cut on her hand.
When Steph and Patrick get stuck in the gym for a few
hours due to faulty wiring, the spark between them starts to
build.
Patrick lays everything on the table. His divorce,
financial instability, etc. He is brutally honest and to
the point. He is just like everyone Steph has already dated
and everything she doesn't want. But after a few dates with
a few of her gentleman, she isn't feeling the spark she is
looking for. The more time she spends with Patrick the more
torn she feels.
I really enjoyed DRIVING HER WILD. This is the third book in
the
series, but can be also read as a stand alone. This book
focuses on Steph and Patrick's story, though these
characters do appear in other stories too. All the characters
are entertaining, witty, and comical. Although I did feel
that Steph was a bit whiny but it fit well with the story
line. Patrick's character was greatly portrayed as the
sweet divorced hard working man that will do anything and
everything in order to make ends meet. DRIVING HER WILD was
my first
book by Meg Maguire, I will be sure to look for other titles
by her.
Winning is good. Succumbing is even better… Evasion Recently retired pro MMA fighter Steph Healy is through having rough-and-tumble romps with sexy blue-collar dudes. Unfortunately, Wilinski's Fight Academy has hired an electrician with a body built to make a gal weep. And avoiding some full-body contact is taking all of Steph's self-control. Grapple Carpenter-turned-electrician Patrick Doherty is damn good with his hands. Sure, he's not what Steph is looking for—yet. But he's about to prove that she has seriously underestimated her opponent…. Submission The moment Patrick has her deliciously pinned, Steph knows she's in deep, deep trouble. Because this seemingly mild carpenter has the mastery to give her exactly what she needs…and this is one takedown she's willing to take lying down!
