Much Ado About Jack

Romance Historical

I loved MUCH ADO ABOUT JACK by an amazing author, Christy English. The year is 1818, England, and Angelique Beauchamp Countess of Devonshire has been widowed for some time now. She claims she will never marry again. She is a wealthy woman in her own right; she owns a ship, holds the title as Countess of Devonshire, and she does not care what the Ton has to say about her comings-and-goings, her affairs or anything she does in her life. She's been hurt in two love affairs after her husband died, and she no longer wishes for it to happen again. But when she meets Captain James Montgomery, Angelique finds it very hard to say no to James. She will not give in so easy, but James will not give up on her.

When James meets the widow Angelique, he finds her most interesting. He loves her inner strength and finds himself so drawn to her, that he would put the sea behind him. The sea is the love of his life, but now with this most intriguing woman, he won't let her go. He's arrogant and she's one tough woman, but will they connect and make a life together?

MUCH ADO ABOUT JACK, I believe, is part of the Shakespeare in Love trilogy by Christy English, and wow, it's one hottie-of-a-read, which I enjoyed! MUCH ADO ABOUT JACK has great characters, romance, and lust galore! Angelique and James can make lightening and thunder in their bed, forget about Mother Nature! There's also a bit of intrigue, and Angelique thinks she can take care of it herself. As she and James become closer, she is fully aware that this man is her protector now and maybe forever. I loved MUCH ADO ABOUT JACK, and I will read it again. This is a recommended read!

SUMMARY

How to Become London's Most Notorious Widow:

1. Vow to NEVER remarry
2. Own a ship and become fabulously wealthy
3. Wear the latest risqué fashions in your signature color
4. Do NOT have a liaison at the Prince Regent's palace with a naval captain whose broad shoulders and green eyes make you forget Rule #1

Angelique Beauchamp, the widowed Countess of Devonshire, has been twice burned by love, and she is certain that no man will ever touch her heart again. But that doesn't mean she can't indulge a little—and it would be hard to find a more perfect dalliance than one with the dashing Captain James Montgomery.

After a brief torrid affair, James tries to forget Angelique and his undeniable thirst for more. The luscious lady was quite clear that their liaison was temporary. But for the first time, the lure of the sea isn't powerful enough to keep him away...
