Cowboy, Colby Blaine, has been a loner most of his life, and
that is exactly what he wants. When he sees Indians
attacking an inexperienced wagon train, he doesn't hesitate
to help and soon finds himself anything but alone.
Naomi Kessling is grateful for Colby's help, but doesn't
trust him, and he asks too many questions about a past she
wants to forget. As the days go by Naomi realizes she has
feelings for Colby despite her misgivings, and hopes her
love is strong enough to make him stay.
Leigh Greenwood brings romance to an action filled western
worthy of reading. The storyline is filled with conflict and
compromise making TO HAVE AND TO HOLD captivating and
enjoyable. Colby is the typical western hero; a cowboy alone
who leaves his solitary life to save the day. He is
charismatic and his vulnerability makes him well - rounded
while staying a capable hero. Naomi is strong willed, but
away from home, and her willingness to learn new things and
take care of her family make her likable and believable. The
setting is well researched and the desert comes alive with
Greenwood's wonderful detail descriptions. The plot twists
are unexpected and readers will be happily satisfied with
the outcome. The ending is pleasing, and Greenwood leaves an
opening for a sequel.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD is a rewarding
read with a great theme and well - written characters many
will enjoy.
