A REVELATION IN AUTUMN by Wanda E. Brunstetter is book five
in The
Discovery Saga. There are six books in this series and
each one is only
128 pages. This is the story of Luke and Meredith
Stoltzfus. Months ago,
Luke left Pennsylvania to travel by bus to his uncles farm
in Indiana. Along
the way, he is met with tragedy and Meredith is left
wondering how she is
ever going to survive without him. Meredith is struggling
with a difficult
pregnancy and missing her husband who they say has been
declared
dead.
Meredith has had her baby, a boy she names Levi Luke. Levi
for her
grandfather and Luke for her husband. Jonah and her sister
Laurie
delivered the baby in the buggy on the side of the road. A
bit
uncomfortable but it probably happens all the time in the
Amish community.
Mother and baby come through just fine. After a little time
has gone by
Meredith decides that for financial reasons, she is going to
rent out her
house and move back in to her parents. She needs her family
around her
for support and everyone agrees it is a good move. They are
all in love
with Levi already and want to send more time with him and
Meredith.
Jonah's feelings for Meredith are growing more and more
every day and he
even lets his parents know. He tells them he won't act on
them until he is
sure Meredith is ready. He is going to ask her if he can
court her? Later,
he will bring up marriage which is what he really wants.
Meredith is torn
between her feelings between Jonah and the fact that she
still loves her
husband. What would Luke want her to do? Would he want her
to be
happy? Is she supposed to mourn him forever? Read A
REVELATION IN
AUTUMN to find out!
Meanwhile the man they call Eddie has agreed to move into
Susan's, his
nurse, with her and her sister and their grandparents. He
doesn't need to
be in the hospital anymore and has nowhere else to go. They
graciously
offer him a roof over his head and in return he can help
them with odd jobs
around the house. He is hoping that being in a family
atmosphere might
help him regain his memory.
As with the other four books in this series, A REVELATION IN
AUTUMN
ends in a cliff hanger that will have you going straight to
the next and final
book, A Vow of Always. Wanda does a wonderful job of
describing the
Amish way of life and their traditions. This series has a
way of making you
think about tragedy and grief and how you would handle or
did handle it.
Would you do things differently? Could you put your faith in
God the way
the Amish community does? I can't wait to get to the last
book and see
how Wanda wraps it all up.
Join Meredith and Luke Stoltzfus, an Amish couple who are faced with the greatest challenge of their young lives. A Revelation in Autumn is part five of Wanda E. Brunsetter’s The Discovery--A Lancaster County Saga.
