In book fifteen of the i>Rough Riders series, Lorelei James tackles the last McKay standing. Three years ago, Dalton McKay almost made the mistake of a lifetime by marrying a woman he thought he loved. After ditching her at the altar, he left Wyoming to escape that life. However, circumstances bring him back home and this is where he finds out that Aurora "Rory" Wetzler is also in Wyoming, pursuing her own life after a break up. Dalton believes that this is his second chance at making Rory his, so he puts on the charms and hopes to hell that Rory still cares for him after all these years.
REDNECK ROMEO has a slow, steady buildup until --BOOM!- James hits you with a series of scorching scenes that will leave you breathing fire! The McKays have been notorious for their skill in the bedroom, and James very much explores that to the limits with this book. Highly creative, well-written sex scenes with emotional depth are what you will find in these books. I don't think Lorelei James has yet to write a bad sex scene!
As the last McKay, James also delves deeper and shows readers a side of Dalton that we didn't know existed. Dalton and his father have always had a tumultuous relationship but for the first time, we understand why. It adds such dimension to an already strong character. Furthermore, the presence of the family does not get overlooked. With a family this big, chaos is bound to happen, but James just writes it in a very entertaining way.
There is no question that the series continues to get better with each book. With each installment, James packs a punch, delivering multi-facet characters with backstories that make you feel as if you know them. REDNECK ROMEO has a lethal combination of heat and heart -- and lots of it!
