Romance | Romance Suspense

Interpol agent Stella Carson's life has had a number of ups and downs but in the last few months she felt like she was in a FREE FALL. Five months earlier she had met and fell in love with Pararescueman Jose "Cuervo" James during an op in Africa. She had been part of the pick up team to pull the SEALS and Pararescuemen from the water and get them to their pickup point. Their "dates" following that had been fantastic but when she made her hopes of home and family known, he told her he didn't want children ever. They parted ways but left a piece of their hearts with the other.

Staff Sergeant Jose Cuervo James is five years sober, but losing Stella was heading him quickly to the breaking point. Then he is given the call and becomes a part of a multi force rescue team. This team is to rescue foreign exchange students who had been captured in Africa. It wasn't until he was aboard that he finds out Stella is among them and that she was on camera and specifically asked for him by saying "I really could use some Jose Cuervo". With her help they manage the rescue, but find there is another student. The student panics and almost gets them all killed when he sets off landmines. After hours of slogging through the jungle, the chopper finally comes back for them, having had to take off when the mines went off. After the debriefing they find out they will be working together again as part of the security team for the vice-presidents wife's visit. As they work together both get a lot of answers, some neither expected. And during the course of the security job, Cuervo faces his biggest fear ... the possibility of life without his heart.

My advice for reading this book is put on a seatbelt because FREE FALL is going to take you on a wild ride. With all the twists and turns, peeks into the past, and the surprise surrounding Stella's mother, the action and emotions are non-stop. It is the perfect book for romance readers, action junkies and mystery lovers. Catherine Mann has another winner with FREE FALL.
