Romance Paranormal

Allie Telford is struggling with her job as a paranormal investigator for the U. S. division of the United Psychical Research Association. As a summoner, her task is to call ghosts into perceptible being and record them to provide proof of their existence to the rest of the world. Thus far she has failed, but she is certain to her bones that this is the field for her. It's just that her powers are a bit erratic and cantankerous.

On a scheduled ghost hunt in merry old England her senses inform her that something soulless lurks in the basement of the decrepit building. She follows the psychic trail which leads her to a dank, dark room where she finds a (very) buff man spread out on a table bleeding from hundreds of cuts. The man, however, declines to be rescued and in fact disappears when she goes off to seek aid.

Having promised a good friend that she will attend a book signing to gain the signature of the famed vampire romance author C. J. Dante her summoning activities must be put on hold. Imagine her amazement when the author turns out to be a dead ringer for the man she last saw bleeding all over a haunted basement!

SEX AND THE SINGLE VAMPIRE is book two in Katie MacAlister's acclaimed series, reprinted with a delicious new cover. I enjoy all the books but I have a special soft spot for Allie, she is probably my favorite character. Although the first book, A Girl's Guide to Vampires was quite good and of course funny, I think this second book is where MacAlister hit her stride with her trademark humor. If you haven't read the series before, I encourage you to take this opportunity to give it a try. I doubt you will regret it. If you are a diehard fan, here's your chance to replace your tattered copies on the keeper shelf with brand new editions that will last for the next fifty readings.

SUMMARY

Romance novelist Christian Dante is sexy and arrogant, a true alpha male. He's also a Dark One (aka vampire), doomed to spend eternity cruising the singles scene in search of the one woman who can redeem his soul. But finally he's found the love that Fate has chosen for him. Too bad she sees dead people and likes to play with demons.

Allie Telford is a Summoner—and she needs to rustle up a ghost pretty darn quick or her paranormal career will be over. Luckily, she's just stumbled upon a naked and unquestionably hot specter in a haunted hotel . . . who looks disturbingly like the tall, dark, handsome fantasy man who's been coming to Allie in her dreams. But it seems he's no phantom after all—he's a real flesh-and-blood-fed immortal who's determined to make Allie his lover for forever . . . or longer. Which may not be a totally bad thing . . .
