What was supposed to be a relaxing, sun-filled (and free!)
Mexican Riviera cruise turns out to be anything but for
writer-for-hire Jaine Austen (and her persnickety stowaway
cat Prozac). Now, how hard could it be to teach a one-hour
writing class each day to a group of passengers, while
enjoying the 24-hour food buffet? Well, when Jaine is
involved, it's a sure bet something will go wrong.
On Jaine's first night at sea, she's seated at a table with
wealthy 70-year-old Emily Pritchard and her family, who do
not like Emily's budding romantic liaison with the ship's
smooth-talking British dancer, Graham. The morning after a
giddy Emily announces her engagement to Graham, he's found
dead -- murdered! That relaxing cruise Jaine was hoping for
has now become a murder investigation and, of course, she
has to become involved in solving it.
Get ready to enjoy another wickedly witty, quick-paced and
fun-filled mystery featuring the delightful 30-something
Jaine Austen and a cast of comical characters. A great
addition to this mystery series!
When Jaine takes a teaching gig on a fancy cruise ship
heading for the Mexican Riviera, she’s hoping for a week of
fun in the sun and hanging out at the all-day buffet. On her
first night at dinner, she’s seated beside Emily Pritchard,
a sweet, wealthy 70-year-old whose financially dependent
relatives don’t take kindly to Emily’s blossoming
relationship with the ship’s smooth-talking British dancer,
Graham.
Within days, Emily announces her engagement — but next
morning, Graham is found dead on deck. The captain is quick
to accuse Graham’s former girlfriend, but Jaine suspects
there are more sharks lurking about. And with Jaine’s
flirtation with Emily’s handsome nephew further more
complicating matters, her relaxing cruise is about to
encounter some very treacherous waters…
