Romance Paranormal

Forensic archaeologist Andrea Monroe has spent the past ten years dreaming about the mysterious medieval knight who saved her from a terrible fall while she was exploring the deserted grounds of Dreadmoor Keep in Northern England. She remembers everything about him; his sapphire eyes, his deep voice, the chain mail and sword he wore, and the fact that when she stumbled towards him, her hand passed right through him! Was he real, or just a figment of her youthful imagination? Now she has the chance to find out. A skeleton and a collection of medieval weapons have been discovered under an overturned oak on the grounds of the keep, and the current lord of Dreadmoor has requested Andi for the excavation.

Tristan de Barre never imagined that Dr. Andi Monroe would be the woman who quite literally stumbled into his life ten years earlier. She's smart, she's feisty, and she's completely unaware that he's a seven- hundred-year-old ghost, a fact he plans to keep hidden. Murdered and cursed by his foster father, Erik de Sabre in 1292, Tristan and his fourteen knights have lived in their ghostly state for hundreds of years, unable to enjoy the blessing of life or the peace of death. Tristan hopes that the buried weapons, which he believes belong to himself and his knights, will give him the answer on how to undo the curse. But as Tristan spends more and more time in Andi's company, answering her questions while keeping his distance, he finds himself yearning to touch her, a yearning that is made even more intense when Andi learns the truth about who and what he really is, and chooses to stay on and complete her work anyway.

Ghost or not, Andi is fascinated by Tristan, the Dragonhawk of legend and the knight of her fantasies, who manages to make her feel more beautiful and desirable than any living man she's known. She knows it's foolish to fall in love with a ghost, but her heart won't be denied, especially when she realizes Tristan shares her feelings. But if she succeeds in solving the mystery of his cursed existence, will she lose him for all time?

Cindy Miles has managed to take a very challenging conflict and turn it into one of the most sensual, seductive stories I've ever read. Tristan and Andi generate so much heat, without even being able to touch, that I worried the pages would burst into flames. With a very dark villain creating a sense of urgency, and a wonderful blend of humor and passion between the main characters, SPIRITED AWAY is a delight. Don't miss it!

SUMMARY

Knight Tristan de Barre and his men were murdered in 1292, their souls cursed to roam Dreadmoor Castle forever.

Forensic archeologist Andi Monroe is excavating the site and studying the legend of a medieval knight who disappeared. But although she's usually rational, Andi could swear she's met the handsome knight's ghost.

Until she finds a way to lift the curse, though, love doesn't stand a ghost of a chance.
