She’s raising her son on her own, but that’s just fine with Lark Cantrell. Caribou Crossing’s fire chief comes from a long line of strong, independent women—who have lousy luck with men. Lark’s ex-husband walked out when Jayden was born with cerebral palsy. No matter—Jayden, now ten, is a bright, terrific kid, and the love of her life. When it comes to men, Lark is content with the occasional casual hookup; there’s no room in her heart for more disappointment. Major Eric Weaver is in Caribou Crossing for one reason: to complete his rehabilitation so he can return to active service. Haunted by what went down in Afghanistan, his wounded soul isn’t healing as quickly as his body. But it’s almost impossible to resist the appeal of the sexy, feisty fire chief and her plucky son—not to mention the friendly, caring small town way of life. In Lark’s loving arms, the scarred soldier begins to believe he may finally have found his true home…

Re: Ring of Fire

What this blog reminds me of is the fact that there are more
books in the "Caribou Crossing" series I need to add to my
TBR pile and buy (I currently own book #1 in the series,
"Caribou Crossing.)
(Edward Washington 6:22pm June 1, 2016)

I'm glad I could provide that reminder, Edward! I hope you enjoy the series.

Congratulations, Susan on the release of your new Caribou Crossing book. Number Seven! Good for you. I love the idea of the plot you've described, two very determined characters with their own agenda.
Can't wait to read it.

I don't know anyone who doesn't like Johnny Cash. It's
interesting that so many of his songs are people's
favorites, not just one or two of the most popular.
Everyone in the family likes Johnny Cash, but no one has
the same favorite song.

Johnny Cash is incomparable in the variety of songs, emotions
and length of career. Waylon Jennings was a friend of his and
you can see they were two of a kind.
I love the premise of this book. Looking forward to reading
this.

Deb, that's interesting that everyone in your family has a different favorite. "Ring of Fire" is definitely one of mine, so it was great to be able to use it in a book.

Thanks, Kathleen. I hope you enjoy the book.

I grew up listening to Johnny Cash because my father liked him. As I got older, I not only liked his music but found his story interesting.
(
Melinda Marks 11:08pm June 4, 2016)

All of Johnny Cash's songs are down to earth and carry a great tune and lyrics. I love learning the scene behind his songs.
