Susan Klaus, born in Sarasota, Fl., has an extensive career with animals, owning pet and grooming shops, showing Himalayan cats, working for a vet, and breeding and racing Thoroughbred horses, and currently, she raises rodeo bulls.

She has been published in several magazines and is the author of suspense/thriller and sci-fi/fantasy novels. Klaus's thriller, Secretariat Reborn, will be released by Oceanview Publishing on Oct. 1, 2013. The story is about a young man who receives a Thoroughbred colt from his dying father and enters the underworld of horseracing with the dilemma that the colt is a clone of Secretariat, illegal to race.

Klaus's fantasy novel, Flight of the Golden Harpy, won the Florida Writers Association award for Best Sci-fi in 2010 and Tor will release the novel in 2014.

Klaus is also the founder and president of The Sarasota Authors Connection Club, and she is the host and co-producer of The Authors Connection Show on with 18 million listeners in 148 countries.
