My all-time favorite keeper book is called PRINCE OF MIDNIGHT by Laura Kinsale. It's a Histoircal that broke all the rules and all the molds for romance. The Hero is a ruthless duke who has a stroke that renders him incapable of speech for most of the book. He's judged to be insane and thrown in an asylum and only the intuition and strength of a strict Methodist heroine saves him. You see why it broke all the rules? It's sn amazing love story. And though I have many books on my keeper shelf, this one sits at number ONE.
