Re: Wicked Highland Ways (12:30pm June 4, 2019):
The morning dew sparkling on the green grass. Crocus, daffodils, hyacinths, and tulips rising out of the warm earth after a long slumber. The trees covered with chartreuse buds or fragrant flowers. Featherless chicks poking their hungry beaks out of the nest. Copper-colored fawns frolicking around their mothers' legs... These are just a few of my favorites things about spring.
Re: Apparent Power (12:05pm May 12, 2019):
I am a fan of dystopian fiction. I just can't get enough of it. Which, considering my passion is researching and writing about family history, I admit that this is an odd match...a person who lives in the past who enjoys contemplating future apocalyptic scenarios.
After reading the synopsis for the book, Apparent Power, I was intrigued. Most dystopian fiction is told from the teenager/young adult point-of-view. As such, these tales are often focus on the protagonist's experiences with little to no consideration of other's viewpoints. But what if the main character is a mother? Suddenly, the story shifts to a more inclusive viewpoint. Not only is the main character concerned about herself, she also has children to consider.
Re: American Duchess (8:35pm April 18, 2019):
As a reader and reviewer of historical fiction, especially when it takes place in WWII, I have been looking forward to reading American Duchess. Consuelo Vanderbilt occupied a world of privilege but had little power to live her life as she chose.
I first "discovered" Consuelo Vanderbilt when I read the book, That Churchill Woman, the story of Jennie Jerome, another American heiress who married into the English nobility. Consuelo Vanderbilt was only a minor character in that book, but I wanted to read more about her.
Re: A Lord Apart (9:10am March 28, 2019):
I have actively researched genealogy for myself and others for more than 20 years. With each discovery, I feel I have solved a mystery.
Because family history is my passion, any book that deals with this topic is a must-read for me, especially novels written by Jane Ashford. For these reasons, I am looking forward to reading A Lord Apart!
Re: The Summer Cottage (3:12pm March 26, 2019):
I hope to read this book when the weather warms, preferably on the beach under a palapa although I suspect my reading location will probably be a lounge chair on my front porch. :)

It sounds like a fun read. And let's face it, anytime there are men in kilts, I'm in! :)

Re: Texas Legacy (8:55am January 16, 2019):
I especially loved the heroes of Lorraine Heath's Hellions of Havisham series. I can't wait to meet the men of her Texas Trilogy!
Re: Lady Sophie's Christmas Wish (12:13pm December 1, 2018):
I also would love to read Lady Sophie's Christmas Wish. Even though I am a parent, I can't imagine what I would do if a child was abandoned on my doorstep. I look forward to reading all about Lady Sophie's joy and missteps on caring for an unexpected baby.
Re: Lady Sophie's Christmas Wish (12:05pm December 1, 2018):
I absolutely love reading collections of historical romance stories. I always keep one or two in my glove compartment as my go-to reading between kids' sporting events. And if those stories take place during the holiday season, more the better. I can't wait to read 'Tis the Season!
Re: Earl to the Rescue (9:34pm November 28, 2018):

Re: Cowboy Christmas Jubilee (10:22pm November 2, 2018):
As far as I am concerned, any time is a good time to read a Christmas romance. I am looking forward to reading Cowboy Christmas Jubilee.
