Beryl Bissell is the author of The Scent of God: A Memoir, published by Counterpoint. She has been a columnist for the Cook County News Herald for the past eight years. Her work has been published in the Trenton Times, Your Life, Lake Superior Magazine, Sun Magazine, Minnesota Monthly, National Catholic Reporter and appears in the anthology Surviving Ophelia (Perseus Publishing, 2001).
