Pfft, what did that guy ever write? Another misconception that really ticks me off is how formulaic romances are, ie. we know there will be a happy ending so it's not worth reading. Well, if you read a mystery you know the sleuth will catch the bad guy, right? And you read it anyway. And in a thriller you know the villain will be vanquished, but you read it anyway. So sure, we guarantee a HEA, but every journey there is different.
