I have always loved the cowboy since I was a child. I playewd cowboys and indians and always swore I was going to have a horse ranch when I grew up or was going to work on a ranch. Neitrher happened but I loved all of the westerns you mentioned and many more. John Wayne was my hero. As well as Jimmy Stewart and Glen Ford and many more. Great topic. Thanks for sharing. I read a lot of books about the cowboys and Montana.

I would ask for a good old-fashioned Christmas like we had when I was a
kid. It was all about family and getting together to celebrate Jesus's
birthday. Too much commercialism anymore.

I really don't remember the first romance book I read either. I know they were probably Harlequin's but don't remember any authors names. I have been reading for a long time and my Father always told me it wasn't good me but as you can tell I didn't listen.

I enjoyed your blog a lot. I have never read any of your books but will have to look for them. I LOVE the Olympics and can understand people that had a dream and followed it. I was a loner and was never anywhere without a book. My father always hollered at me and told me to quit reading so much but I never listened. I got in trouble at school for hiding books behind my school books and reading them in class. HA! Awe the memories. But anyway I have been reading for close to 50 years so don't remember the first one. But I love Robhyn Carr,Debbkie Macomber,Linda Lael Miller and countless others. Thanks for sharing with us.

Of course I would have to say Forbidden Falls by Robyn Carr as I am an avid VR reader. I also liked Summer at Willow Lake by Susan Wiggs and One Reckless Summer by Toni Blake. I can't thing of a winter one but do like any stuck in a blizzard with a hunky man books.

Sandi, I love reading series books. I have been reading Debbie's Cedar Cove series and anxoiusly await the next one. I have been reading the Virgin River series as well and can't wait for the one this month. I usually read them as they come out. Sometimes I have to go rto the last book to refresh my memory but not usually. I am now reading the After the Storm series that started las fall but waited to get them all before reading. I found this is a great way to read them because you don't forget what happened in the book before but with this series I don't feel it would have been necessary. I love series and standalones alike.

I like the one comment about it having to be before 1950 to be historical. Well I must be historical because I was born before then. HA! Another generation. Good one.

Just as the word brings to mind, history is something has happened in the past. It can be last week and that is still history but if you read a historical novel then it is usually something that happened a long time ago in another life and another era. We make history every day but it isn't historical till in the future. That sounds all jumbled up but hope it is clear.

I finished reading One Lucky Coowboy today and it is one of the most exhilerating books that I have read lately. It has comments that will make you hold your sides with laughter and others that will make you sigh and bring a tear to your eye. Very well written and attention grapper and holder. Excellent read.

I have been using a lot of retail therapy in the last 6 months to get me thru some stressful times with being unemployed. I love to browse the book stores but my tbr pile is getting higher and higher. Enjoy browsing!
