AND NOW, BACK TO YOU is book 2 in the Heartstrings Series by author B.K. Borison. In book 1, FIRST TIME CALLER, we saw R.J. Grumpy fall for a caller on his popular radio show on Baltimore airwaves. We also met the weather nerds, like I call them - the meteorologists Jackson, who works with Aiden, and Delilah, who is the weather girl at the TV station across the street from the Radio HQ.
In FIRST TIME CALLER, we saw them clash and communicate via Post-it notes on car windshields and spilling anything and everything on each other. In AND NOW, BACK TO YOU, we get up close and meet where, in their first face-to-face, they carry on the tradition of spilling coffee on each other. The story revolves around them collaborating on a weather assignment for both the Radio and T.V. in the week they are on assignment, they get close, cover the weather, falling for each other, and everything about their lives and future in between. The two weather nerds, like I call them lovingly, cover everything from their inspiration behind becoming meteorologists and the people they are in their personal lives.
I enjoyed being a part of the chaotic, spontaneous, yet with a strong structured routine of their individual lives and families.
The week they spend together is full of cute moments that one experiences in the rush of a new relationship. It was good because the friendship and falling for the other was mutual and not one sided. It was full of cute, nerdy, wonderful chemistry between the couple, which had me turning pages dreamily lost in the intimacy and emotions of it all.
We also meet the familiar characters we met in Book 1, like Aiden and his girlfriend, their daughter, and Jackson's sister's, along with some characters who were fire on paper like Jackson's Boss and her arch nemesis.
The friendships in the story are a warm touch that go hand in hand as far as the romantic storyline goes.
The family situation was emotional and made for teary reading moments, be it Delilah's grandfather or Jackson's sisters. The story had family written in a way where it was not an obstacle itself, but an excuse for the lead couple to use for their own hesitation and uncertainties about a relationship.
If you are looking for a cosy story to read on a winter’s day, especially with a great storm in its storyline, or if you are looking for a cute, nerdy story to get cosy with on a chilly day, AND NOW, BACK TO YOU is a worthy pick up.
