With IN YOUR DREAMS, Sarah Adams finishes off her four- book When in Rome series set in small town Rome, Kentucky. Focused on the Walker siblings, the series hit most of the usual tropes. When In Rome paired a grumpy pie- making brother with a sunshine incognito rock star. Practice Makes Perfect had a shy flower shop owning sister practice dating a bad boy tattooed bodyguard to help her find her forever HEA. Meddling big sister falls in love with her nemesis, who happens to also be secretly writing novels while working as an elementary school teacher in Beg, Borrow, or Steal. Last but not least, Madison Walker fled her small hometown for culinary school in New York City. She also wanted to leave her reputation as the flaky, wild child sibling behind as she took the restaurant world by storm. Instead, she barely graduates after three lonely and depressing years with no job offer in sight. When a misdialed call connects her with her brother’s best friend, James Huxley, the new farm-to- table restaurant he plans to open at his family farm solves her career problems. James loved Madison secretly for years, even after he realized she might never return from the city. The impulsive decision to offer Madison the job as head chef in the restaurant that did not exist until that unexpected phone call will bring Madison back, but will it cause him to lose his financially unstable family farm? James also has to deal with his charming and successful younger brother trying to woo and date Madison. Madison and James must work through anxiety, stress, and family expectations so they can find their own strength and vision for their future. This is an uncomplicated, small-town romance with all the couples from the rest of the series making constant appearances. Enjoyed reading the book, but Madison and James were not my favorite characters in the series.
