THE WOMAN IN SUITE 11, by Ruth Ware is the follow-up to THE WOMAN IN CABIN 10. Readers are reunited with Lo Blacklock, who ten years ago survived a cruise ship nightmare. She is now married to an American, has two young sons and now works as a freelancer having given up a magazine job as a travel journalist. Out of the blue, she received an invitation to attend the opening of a Lake Geneva, Switzerland luxury hotel. Nervous about leaving her family, she recognized that if she could get an interview with the elusive billionaire owner it could jump-start her career. At first, all went well. The food, setting and accommodations were divine. Oddly enough, there were three guests whom Lo knew all too well. They had been on the same cruise ship with her ten years ago. Then came a phone call that would set her life on a trajectory she never could have seen coming.
The author is a gifted storyteller and this book is an excellent example of this. Well-plotted and complex, the story keeps readers totally engrossed from start to finish. Lo is a well-crafted protagonist. She is intelligent, kind and analytic. Will these traits be enough to keep her alive? Early on, readers find that this story is not only about Lo but that is what makes it so intriguing.
Masterfully constructed and fast-paced, THE WOMAN IN SUITE 11 is difficult to put down. For those who love an action-packed psychological thriller with no shortage of twists and turns, THE WOMAN IN SUITE 11 is an excellent choice. Highly recommended.
